5 GREAT REASONS TO VISIT BOSA

There are at least 5 great reasons to visit Bosa, a small village on the west coast of Sardinia. Just don’t ever call it a village. Since the King of Spain Filip II recognised it as such in 1563, Bosa is a town.

HISTORY NUGGETS

Bosa is favoured by its unique position inside a fertile valley and traversed by a navigable river close to the sea. Since the Romans founded it over two thousand years ago, it grew in importance until it became the capital town of Planargia under the reign of Spain in the XVI century.

The economic decline it suffered thereafter has meant that the centre town has been left almost completely unchanged.

A MEDIEVAL JEWEL

Bosa is now considered one the of the top 20 Medieval towns in Italy. And here is why it’s worth a visit.
